Five things you can do to help heighten and build awareness for your brand and public relations campaign during tight, penny pinching economic times:

1. Blog on your current website to drive more traffic to your website. The more you Blog and create new content the more potential traffic you can drive to your website. Create an RSS feed for your Blog so readers can easily view new postings.

2. Join social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to create relationships with journalists. Not recommended to pitch journalists through these networking sites. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS.

3. Create pitches for the local media in your area that are timely to current news stories in your local community (pitch local newspapers and TV stations your services or expertise for follow-up stories).

4. Create your own unique content as an expert and post video blogs on your website and a youtube channel.

5. Keep all of the above suggestions current, new and filled with content.
